By Romily BroadEA's riotous, celebrity-packed open-access gaming event, BE THE ONE, returns to London's Trafalgar Square this weekend. We'll be there, so will FIFA09, and we think you should be too.
Visit the BE THE ONE website at
http://www.electronicarts.co.uk/betheone.
Part of this year's London Games Festival, the event offers up the chance to play all EA's latest games (including some that haven't even come out yet), win stacks of prizes and play on the main stage against celebs from the worlds of entertainment, sport and music.
It takes place on Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November, and it's all for free!
The centrepiece of the event will be one of the largest temporary structures ever built in Trafalgar Square. Called the BE THE ONE BattleDome, it will house all the high-end technology with which we like to have our fun. And at one end will be the main stage which will host celebrity and public games competitions and live music.
FIFA will be in attendance of course, so come on down if you fancy showing off your skills. You may even end up on the stage playing an A-list superstar. One of the country's very best FIFA players will also be there, ready to take on the best of the USA in a Madden Vs FIFA showdown.
In short, it's going to be pretty spectacular. Even Boris Johnson thinks so, and he runs the whole city!
He said: "I am pleased to see EA's BE THE ONE event is returning to Trafalgar Square. It was an undoubted highlight of last year's festival, which reinforces London's position at the centre of one the fastest-growing creative industries in the world."
Let us know if you're going. And if you do go, come back here afterwards and let us know how you got on.
